Øyvind is a senior engineer at NIVA, involved in configuring and operating the Otter USV and its sensors. He is a marine engineer with experience from instrumentation, underwater positioning/navigation, measurement uncertainty and processing of environment/vehicle data from AUVs and ROVs. He has also worked extensively on electrical design, PLC software, regulations compliance and control system reliability for offshore electro-hydraulic machine systems, He has a particular interest in current measurements from moving underwater platforms, and has published papers on development and application of MATLAB software for Earth-referencing, visualization and contextualization of vector (ADCP) and scalar (CTD) data from AUVs.
